  • Currently also Vice President/Partner of and Engineering and Construction Firm in Miami, managing large-scale environmental remediation, airport bulk fuel storage and distribution system, and construction-related projects with a total contract value of over $100 Million. Especially selected to handle high-profile and highly technical projects, and those requiring his unique combination of knowledge, experience, patience and ability to transform “difficult” projects into successful ventures. Mr. Worku has established many key professional relationships during the last 18 years managing Professional Services Contracts for Miami-Dade County Facilities. Over this period, he has interfaced successfully with many agencies, negotiated the most cost effective solutions for cleaning up contaminated properties, and presented Best Value solutions to his Clients.

  • Resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA

  • Educated both at Addis Ababa University and USA, entering an MBA in 1972

  • Served in various state and private institutions; July 72 to February 1975

  • Appointed manager of Coca Cola Co. in 1975 and acting General Manager of Beverage Corporation till 1978. There after served as General Manager of Fiber works Corporation, Woodworks Corporation. And from 1984 to 1991 as General Manager of Nation Chemical Corporation.

  • During a continued serve under the Ministry of Industry for 17 years, initiated, developed and implemented various expansion and new projects including capacity building of an existing brewery, feasibility study of a fourth brewery, and malty growing of kenaf fiber locally. In the chemical sector projects included a caustic soda plant, Aluminum Sulphate factory, production of alkyd resin(for plants), modernizing and expansion of salt-works at Massawa & Assab, pre and feasibility studies on plastic pipes and fittings and a 200,000 Ton Urea fertilizer production in plants in Gode utilizing natural gas obtained in Kalub, Ogaden region.

  • Married for 50 years and father of 7 children and six grandchildren:

  • - PhD in Pharmacy from Addis Ababa University

  • - Manages pharmaceutical sales and distribution for a large international pharmaceutical company

  • - Experience in product Import/Export

  • - Resides in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

  • - Michael has over 20 years of experience in database design/implementation, programming, development and, data analysis. Michael handles WIGI’s information technology and data analysis. Additionally, he will manage day to day operations of several of WIGI’s projects.
